The new thought leadership conferences will complement those that are run as part of larger GSMA events such as the Mobile World Congress, Mobile Asia Expo and NFC & Mobile Money Summit and will explore key mobile industry trends and issues on a regional basis announced GSMA’s press release.

Idea Cellular Unveils 3G Smartphone ‘Zeal’
Idea Cellular has launched dual SIM 3G Smartphone, Zeal to upgrade its existing 2G users to 3G. The new dual-SIM Zeal is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and comes with 256 MB of RAM on board with Android 2.3.6 platform. 
 
 Idea Zeal is based on Android 2.3.6 OS with a 3.5-inch touch screen, having a resolution of 320X480 pixels, and a 3MP auto-focus rear camera with Digital zoom. While Zeal comes with an internal memory of 256MB RAM and 512 MB ROM, it also offers micro SD Card slot compatible for cards up to 32GB.

Telefónica has named the first countries in which it will launch Firefox OS, the new, open mobile operating system from Mozilla. The first commercial handsets featuring Firefox OS will go on sale in Brazil, Colombia, Spain and Venezuela in mid-2013. Further launches are planned in both Europe and Latin America in late 2013 and 2014.
 
The first Firefox OS handsets to launch in these initial markets will be manufactured by Alcatel One Touch, LG and ZTE, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor.
