Emerson Network Power has offered insight and recommendations for properly evaluating, selecting and operating smart hybrid energy solutions at telecom cell sites. There are opportunities for improvement ranging from more precise configuration and dimensioning of hybrid systems to implementation of intelligent hybrid technologies that make hybrid solutions even more efficient and change the value proposition for some network providers.
“Telecom operators are evaluating different combinations of hybrid technologies, capital investment and OPEX to narrow down on the solutions that can deliver the lowest TCO,” said Pratik Chube, country GM – products & marketing at Emerson Network Power in India. “Even as the emerging generation of intelligent hybrid technologies promises reduced operational costs along with increased visibility and control, service providers should also look at engineered best practices that can provide measurable benefits across their network, without significant capital investment”.
With that in mind and the benefit of two decades of experience in engineering and managing hybrid energy solutions for customers, Emerson Network Power offered some key observations and recommendations for providers considering hybrid technologies or looking to maximize an existing hybrid infrastructure.
