Port Indigo has launched its India operations. Port Indigo Mobile Solutions Private Limited (Port Indigo) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the US parent and has its registered office in Mumbai. The company established its India presence to cater to the Indian mobile user, with technology to help overcome and disregard usage barriers and unfamiliarity of the mobile phone.
Explaining the strategy on entering the Indian market, Moses Merchant, CEO of Port Indigo, stated “India is an important and exciting market that is at the crossroads of mobile and Internet communications. With our entry into this market, we are set to tap into this high potential by providing easy to use and yet affordable solutions. To this end, we have an exciting array of products and services that are slated for release over the coming months and years, and I am confident that the Indian mobile user will derive immense benefits from our unique technologies.”
Port Indigo is seeking to create a strong presence in India that would help Handset Manufacturers in differentiating their products, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to maximize revenue through innovative premium range service plans, and Content Providers in reaching out to new audiences hitherto unexposed to rich media entertainment and other Internet services.
